8/16/07  Participate in Rally Nights and Increase Your Membership!

Two special membership rally nights will be singled out and talked up through the media.

The Razorback District Membership Committee has been working for a few months on building relationships with elementary schools in Washington and Benton County.  As a result, rally nights have been scheduled in Washington County on September 6 and in Benton County on September 13 at each school.

If your unit has not yet been contacted by Membership Chairman Jimmy Darnell regarding your role in recruiting on that night, CALL HIM IMMEDIATELY and find out what schools you will be recruiting from and the procedure that will be followed that night.  Unit leaders should not assume they are to recruit from the same schools as they did last year.  Some changes have been made.  Call Jimmy at 479-841-7537.

By recruiting on these nights your unit can take advantage of the promotional work being done through radio, TV and newspaper.  Flyers will be printed for those nights at the Scout Shop for use by units.

QUESTIONS?  Contact Randy Godsey at 479-636-9321, 479-621-6666 or 479-531-1555 or Jimmy Darnell at 479-841-7537.

11/5/05 -- ALL MERIT BADGE COUNSELORS MUST BE REGISTERED ON A YEARLY BASIS!

This year, we want all merit badge counselors registered by December 1st with recharter.  You WILL NOT send it in with your recharter but send it separately to the Springdale office.  This is very important!  Boys must earn their merit badges by currently registered merit badge counselors only.

How do you register properly?  How do I get correct information about merit badge counseling direct from National's documents?

Please go to www.razorbackscouts.org click on training and then merit badge counselor training.  This will give you a link to the council site.  Click on training and then merit badge counselor training.  Or.....go directly to the council site at www.westarkbsa.org click on training and then merit badge counselor training.

All of your merit badge counselors and leaders need to read this entire training.  Every boy deserves a trained leader and this also goes for merit badge counselo
rs.  Let's do the best for our boys, get trained, keep informed. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
